Introduction to Fly Fishing

This introductory course, taught by local fishing guide Charlie Laffey and PSC professor Tom Sydow, incorporates both classroom sessions and hands-on instruction in casting and fishing techniques and situations. 


Students will learn about equipment, knot tying, entomology (the bugs fish eat), reading the water, and on stream tactics. 


Demonstrations in fly tying and rod building will also be given in classroom sessions. 

All necessary equipment will be provided by course instructors.


Class will meet on the PSC campus in Science Hall Room 120, 5 pm - 8 pm, every other Thursday: March 9 & 23, April 6 & 20, and May 4.
