WVU Potomac State College offers college courses in high schools within our region. The ACCESS Program is a great way for students to get a head start on their college career.
To enroll in the High School ACCESS Early College Program, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a high school or home-schooled Sophomore, Junior or Senior during the semester when the desired course is offered.
- Hold a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Some courses require students to have a current ACT/SAT score, or to complete the ALEKS and/or ACCUPLACER placement tests in order to meet certain prerequisite requirements prior to course registration. All official scores must be visible in the WVU system before the add/drop period ends for that semester.
To Apply for ACCESS Courses:
- Complete the WVU Potomac State College online application Students should only complete 1 application per term for their preferred campus. If you have already applied to another campus for the same term, please skip to step 3. If PSC is the preferred campus, please make sure to choose Keyser (Potomac State College) from the drop down on the preferred on campus location question on the application.
- Students MUST upload an unofficial transcript with their application or they MUST upload to the MyWVU Portal after they submit.

All high school students wishing to enroll must complete, sign, and return
the Enrollment Authorization Form.

Go to login.wvu.edu to claim your account, receive your username and create your password. This is also where you’ll go to change your password or manage your account in the future.
Instructions:
- Log into
https://portal.wvu.edu using your WVUID username and password.
- Once logged in, click on the
“PAY YOUR BILL HERE!”
button. This will take you to WVU MyAccount.
- Click on the
"My Account"
tab in the top of the Home screen and select
"Statements"
from the drop-down menu.
- The next page will initially say
"You have no billing statement at this time." Please wait for a few
seconds while the
"On Demand Statement" button loads.
- Click on the
" On Demand Statement” button.
- In the next window, choose the semester for which you want to access your billing statement from the “Term” drop-down menu.
- Log into
https://portal.wvu.edu using your WVUID username and password.
- Once logged in, click on the “PAY YOUR BILL HERE!” button.
- Visit
Buy your books

- In the top left-hand corner you will need to change the campus to West Virginia
University Potomac State College.
- Click on "Textbooks".
- From the drop-down boxes, you will enter
course information.
- Enter all courses if you are taking more than one.
- When you have finished adding courses, click on "Find Course Materials".
- This will bring up Your Course Materials, listing the class information you
entered and showing any books required for each class.
- Choose your preferred textbook format and add items to shopping cart.
- Continue the checkout process with payment and shipping information and SUBMIT
THE ORDER.
- You will receive e-mail confirmation that the order has been received, and further e-mails as the order is complete

Paying Your Bill Online
Students/parents/guardians can electronically make a payment through the STAR system by credit card or an electronic check by logging into the student’s WVU Portal account. The system is available nearly 24 hours a day and all payments are posted in real-time. Online payment is secure, fast, and easy!

Purchase Books
The PSC bookstore’s website carries all of the books required for the ACCESS program and has a number of different formats to choose from including: new, used, digital and rented textbooks. Depending on the format you choose you can save between 25% - 50% over the cost of a new book.
The Potomac State College Bookstore carries a wide selection of new or used books, digital, and rental textbooks.
All books are also available for purchase or rental at the Potomac State College Bookstore on our campus. The store accepts cash, credit or debit card, and Barnes&Noble gift cards as payment. Regular store hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
